Blackthorn!

I don't think I have ever seen blackthorn out in February before, and there it was, high against a blue sky and with miniature daffodils and snowdrops out beneath it.

Today I got sunburnt and had to tie my hair into a knot to stop the top of my head from getting burnt -- as if it were June and the sun was overhead. This, of course, must be because we are no longer being protected by an ozone layer. I have lathered my face in aftersun tonight!

But oh what fun it was. I was plodging in my ditches as usual.

A song thrush hasn't stopped trying to be the best boy band in the area and pull the best birds.

And the chaffinches are going mad, and singing their heads off against the blue.

What a colourfest.
